Roman Holiday is a must see for the lovers of classic romantic comedies. The movie follows a royal princess (Hepburn), bored in her limitation inside royal house, who sets out to see Rome on her own and while doing so, falls in love with an American newsman (Peck).

The movie performed in modest way at theatres but with time, it has become one of the most loved as well as critically acclaimed romantic movie of all time. The movie is the story of an affair between a poor artist boy (Caprio) and an aristocrat girl (Winslet), who develop a deep bond despite their differences in social status. The story is set around the ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic ship.

Since its release, it has garnered huge commercial and critical success. Until being surpassed by the same director Cameroon’s Avatar, the film remained as the highest-grossing film of all time, for a long time. It won 11 Oscars out of the 14 for which it was nominated, including the Best Picture and Best Director. It has also appeared in many “All Time Great” lists. It now holds IMDB rating of 7.7.
