7. My Left Foot (1989)


My Left Foot is a drama movie directed by Jim Sheridan who starred Daniel Day-Lewis to represent Christy Brown, who was an Irishman and was disabled with cerebral palsy and only could control his left foot. He learns to control his left foot and learns to write and paint with it. The movie received very good reviews from audiences and the film critics. Lewis was awarded with the Academy Award for Best Actor and Fricker, who appeared on the side roles also won the Best Supporting Actress award. This classic movie is very sensuous to have roused the struggle a disabled person does apart from the ostracization that he receives from people who laugh at him. Nash then goes to a medication regiment to cure himself from hallucinations. However, the film has several faults of showing a different plot about his family in the film.
